Mema and Papa's Anniversary Party

This weekend was another big event...it was Mema and Papa's 50th wedding anniverary party. I was able to meet a lot of people in my mom's family that I have never met before. It was a fun time to be able to spend the weekend in Lindale with Grammy and Grandpa. It was the first time that I had been out to their house. My Grammy wanted to keep me for a few days, but my mom and dad would not let me stay!

After the anniversary party, we went to Matt and Sara's crawfish party. That was a lot of fun too!

I did sleep most of the day, but I did have a great time!

My mom kept trying to wake me up all day! They didn't want me to sleep so much, but I was really tired.

My First Big Trip

My mom, dad and Lady Gran took me on my first big trip this past week. Dad and Lady Gran had a delivery to make to Austin, so my mom and I stopped in Belton to see my great grandma. It was the first time that I had met her. We had a great time!

I slept most of the way in the car and was awake most of the time with Grandma. I really enjoyed my trip!

Put to Work

My Mom and Dad decided to put me to work yesterday!

They made me help them plant the flower beds in front of our house. You can see the fruits of our labor below!

Tired Baby

I just wanted to share some of the latest pics of me doing what I do best...sleeping! I even fall asleep while my mom and dad give me a bath!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Today is my one month birthday! I am getting bigger every day!

I had lots of people come see me last night.
Uncle Brian, Aunt Chrissy, and Aunt Emily all came to see me last night. Also, Cousin Cherie and Cousin Scott stopped by before they left for Mexico! We had a really good time.


My Aunt Emily was excited to hold me!



But sometimes I just like hanging out with mom.


I am getting really strong and able to hold my head up. Every day I get better at it!!


But I get tired and have to take breaks!

Yesterday I was four weeks old. My mom and dad have been taking me more places every day. I have been to eat at El Fenix twice already! I guess that it is my favorite just like my dad.

I also went up to my mom's office and met all of her work friends. That was fun to see where my mom will be all day.

I have been cheering on the Rangers every night with my dad. They are an over .500 team with me around! Hopefully they will keep that up!

I haven't been sleeping nearly as much lately during the day, but doing better at night.

My mom went to the doctor today and everything went really well for her. The doc said that I can start running with her.

First Bath

I really enjoyed my first bath! Here is my daddy and me right afterward! I think that he liked it too.
I did get a little cold though. Mom and dad are going to have to learn to keep me a little warmer.
Once I warmed up again, I was fine.

First Easter

This is the sign that was in our front yard for 10 days after Trey was born. Everyone in the area knew about our new arrival!

He got a little sleep throughout the day! It was a long day for a little 10 day old baby boy!

Doak III was born...

Doak Haynes Lander III (Trey) was born on March 13, 2008.

We were to go in an be induced on March 11(Tuesday) at 9pm.

Doak and I went to the hospital and things started to progress that night. We thought that things were going well. We went through all of Wednesday and nothing happened. About 5pm on Wednesday, I had not progressed enough on my own and they started talking to me about going home and waiting until something happened on its own. We were not very happy about that.

About 7pm the dr came in and we broke my water. We didn’t want to go home without the baby. We thought that this might make things go quicker! No such luck! I was having contractions, but nothing more that that. They gave me an epidural about 10pm. We waited and waited.

Finally about 2am, the dr came in and said that he wasn’t coming out on his own. So they started prepping me for surgery. It is not what I wanted, but I was thankful that it was going to be over soon.

At 3:48am, Trey was born. We found out that it was a good thing that we had a C section. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his little neck twice. If we would have proceeded with a normal delivery, things would have gone back quickly.

He was 7lbs 7oz and 19 inches long and perfect!













Here are the proud mom and dad at the hospital. We were all pretty tired after the entire ordeal. We had to stay in the hospital for 4 days after Trey was born. We were very ready to all come home!
